Hospital has its own 24 hours running first in whole city  except SGPGI Blood banks & Component centre Components of high standards which saves the life of critically ill patients are provided round the clock by this deptt. All donars are strictly on voluntary and replacement basis.
     The hospital is well equipped and the special facilities for the following diseases are available in the hospital.
     Our Mission is No one shall suffer in Lucknow & neighbouring areas for want of blood or its Components.
     As blood is vital & has no artificial substitute .So our emphasis is on encouraging the medical fratemity to use blood components instead of whole blood. By use of components , we can have optimum utilization of blood and this helps 3-4 persons with one unit of blood .We want to discourage the clandestine sale of blood or professional donors.

Three major components made by one unit of blood are:-

Red Cells
Are required to treat patient with Anaemia ,Thalassemia and patients undergoing major surgeries.

Platelets
Are used to stop bleeding in patients who suffer from bleeding disorder due to platelet deficiency like ITP Dengue fever , Cancer ,Hemophila.

Plasma
The liquid portion of blood is used to treat bums and patients in shock and also provides coagulation factors .They are widely used in management of chronic renal failure disorders and deficiency states.
