Physiotherapy is a system of health-care delivery which detects diagnosis and prescribes treatment for physical (or) physiological dysfunction using physical modalities with the help of modern technology.
Physiotherapy is holistic patient-care leading to psycho- physiological restoration, requisitioning bio-mechanic and medical engineering aids and appliances, their check-out and various modern therapeutic modalities like Manipulation, NDT (Nero Development Theory), MET (Muscle Energy Technique) etc., and finally towards medical rehabilitation.
Physiotherapy Drugless approach of physiotherapy is preferred to avoid iatrogenic complications and drug dependences. Physiotherapy has a major supportive role in intensive care of patients whereas it is the treatment of choice in convalescent and residual stages in particular to those associated with neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardio-vascular respiratory systems and various fields of medicine like Pediatrics. |
